West Atlanta Watershed Alliance - Service Saturdays at Outdoor Activity Center
The West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA) is a community-based non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life within the West Atlanta Watershed by protecting, preserving and restoring the community’s natural resources. WAWA represents African American neighborhoods in Northwest and Southwest Atlanta that are overburdened with environmental stressors, but are often least represented at environmental decision-making tables. For more information, please visit: http://wawa-online.org.
West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA) believes that a healthy environment equals a healthy community, our overall efforts are focused on growing a cleaner, greener, healthier, and more sustainable West Atlanta.
Volunteers will make a difference by helping to maintain, revive, and renew the 26-acre urban forest. Activities will include: invasive plant removal, outlining new trails/mulching existing trails, repairing a trail boardwalk, prepping garden spaces for spring planting, and removing illegally dumped trash, tires, and debris from the trailheads.
