Project Description: Help care for our plants at projects around town. Activities include mulching urban trees in the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, removing invasive plants from greenspaces, watering new trees, maintaining the BeltLine Arboretum, planting new trees, and other outdoor maintenance tasks. This is a weekly volunteer opportunity that occurs every weekday.  The group meets at our headquarters and heads out to the project site for the day and does not return until the end of the project.  If you attend, you must stay for the entire project.

No prior experience is necessary – Trees Atlanta will teach you what to do.
Physical activity such as bending, lifting, and digging with a shovel is required.
Projects happen rain or shine, so please check the weather beforehand and come prepared.

Trees Atlanta will provide all necessary tools and instruction. You must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. We highly recommend long-sleeved shirts to protect your skin from poison ivy and sun. All volunteers need closed-toed shoes or boots, clothes that can get dirty, sunscreen and bug spray as needed, snacks as needed (though a meal or snack before the project is recommended), and drinking water in reusable containers. No one-time-use plastic bottles, please.

This project is best for ages 16 and up.  Volunteers ages 16 and 17 who'd like to attend on their own must bring a liability waiver signed by a parent/guardian with them to the project.

Trees Atlanta is an official partner of the BeltLine. Official BeltLine Partner organization’s volunteer events occur within the 45 neighborhoods along the Atlanta BeltLine. Please keep in mind these events can take place anywhere within the 45 Atlanta BeltLine neighborhoods and are not typically along the trail, but meant to benefit the communities within the BeltLine corridor.
