Caring for Clarkston Food Pantry
Clarkston Community Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission of creating a place for Clarkston residents to come together for art, education, recreation and community building. Clarkston Community Center serves long-time Americans, newly-arrived refugees, immigrants, low-income individuals and seniors.
The purpose of the Food Pantry is to provide assistance to individuals and families who are struggling to bring in enough income to provide the basic living needs for themselves and their families.
Setup food distribution area with tables, chairs,
Move food from pantry to distribution area
Sort/separate food for each family
Assist families/individuals with selecting food
Organize and Clean-up food distribution area and pantry
This project is located in Clarkston. Clarkston is 4 miles NE of Decatur; in-between Stone Mountain and Decatur.
The minimum age to volunteer without an adult is 14, volunteers under 13 must have an adult. Court-ordered volunteers are not permitted to serve.
This Food Pantry is an affiliate of the Atlanta Community Food Bank
This volunteer opportunity is part of Hands On Atlanta's Civic Leadership Program and is led by a trained a Civic Fellow. The Civic Leadership Program transforms volunteer leaders into civic leaders while also supporting the needs of nonprofits.
