Volunteer Information Session
Do you have an interest in social justice? Are you a history buff or a lover of the arts?
If so, then the National Center for Civil and Human Rights needs you!
We are recruiting volunteers to work as gallery assistants and lobby greeters.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M. and Saturdays from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.
We need volunteers who can help direct visitors and to answer questions about the Center's exhibition content.
High school students and college students are encouraged to sign up, along with those who have a passion for education and community service.
If you would like to learn more about the Center, please sign up for a Volunteer Information Session. We'll give you a short tour of the Center and an overview of our current volunteer roles.
We look forward to meeting you!
To become a volunteer, a backcheck is required.
The National Center for Civil and Human Rights (NCCHR) is following guidance from the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) to provide a safe working environment for employees and volunteers. The following provides a summary of the measures we have implemented to provide a safe and healthy environment for our staff and visitors.
Temperature Checks – Confidential, touchless body temperature checks will be offered to staff and visitors utilizing a digital infrared thermometer prior to entering the building. Staff/Volunteers will also complete a brief confidential health screening questionnaire at the beginning of each shift. Those with a temperature result of 100.4° F (38° C) or above will be asked to leave the Center and seek medical consultation before returning.
