Tool Maintenance and Branding
Join us at the Atlanta Community Toolbank Tuesdays and Fridays to help us maintain tools and brand tools. As our tools are lended to other nonprofits and charitable organizations, they aquire normal wear and tear. We like to make sure we are sending out tools that are maintained and branded our Toolbank Blue. We have over 42,000 tools and more than 300 tool types. We are a small staff of 5, so we invite welcome volunteers to help us with our very large inventory.
Some of the task include:
Branding (painting tools and putting our logo on tools)
Sharpening ( getting rust off of and sharpening anything meant to cut)
Repairs ( repairing broken tools)
Organizing ( making the most of the space we have and making room for new donations)
Testing ( test tools that were donated and determine if they are usable and fixable)
We typically work in the warehouse, which is not climate controlled. We please ask you wear weather appropriate clothes and close toed shoes. We also require mask.
It would be wonderful if you could come volunteer on any posted dates on the Hands On Calendar. If you love it here, we are looking for volunteers that would also like to come to the tool bank on a regular basis. We love educators, coordinators, people that like to fix stuff, and creative people. Contact us at The Atlanta Community Tool Bank if you would like to volunteer regularly!
