StreetWise Saturday Mobile Food Pantry Distribution
Thank you for Volunteering and thinking of StreetWise Georgia and being the helping hands to those in need!
Our Mobile Food Pantry is on the second Saturday of the month.
Volunteers can expect to be outside during most of the event. You will help sort food, prepare food boxes, and load the food boxes into registered guest’s vehicles. Also, help registered guest’s check-in, direct traffic, hand out StreetWise flyers, and so much more. We can find a place for you!
Volunteers will arrive by 9:00 A.M. at StreetWise facility. We will set up for our Mobile Food Pantry and then at 9:30 A.M. begin to serve the registered guests. Guests never have to get out of their vehicles. They drive through our parking lot, where StreetWise Volunteers load their cars. With everyone pitching in, clean-up is a snap, and Volunteers are done by 1:30 P.M.
You must have your own transportation. Volunteers under the age of 16 without transportation should not be dropped off.
Please wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes preferred (no open-toed shoes), no earbuds or headphones for safety reasons, and leave personal belongings in the car or at home. **We serve rain or shine, heat or cold, and sometimes in the snow! Check the weather forecast and dress appropriately to be outside. We can’t guarantee the weather, but we can guarantee smiles and laughter all around!
COVID-19 protocols: **Please do not come if you are sick, or not feeling well** You will need to decline this volunteer invitation. We are committed to keeping our facilities clean and safe for our Clients and Volunteers. For your safety, we ask Volunteers to bring their own masks. We have a limited supply, and we cannot guarantee that we have enough. Guests will not get out of their car, and there should be no physical contact with them.
Court-ordered volunteering only for non-violent crimes.
*If you are a High School or College Student that needs volunteer hours, we can give you documentation that you volunteered at StreetWise 501(c)(3) Nonprofit.
StreetWise is conveniently located off Hwy 316 next to the Gwinnett County Airport. You can also take Hwy 316 to Winder Hwy NE (Hwy 29) to Cedars Road.
