Established in 2016 through a partnership between Central Atlanta Progress, the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (CAP/ADID), and MARTA, our 501(c)(3) garden has deep roots in the community. In 2018, we joined forces with the City of Atlanta's Office of Resilience through its AgLanta program, solidifying our position as a key player in the city’s urban agriculture movement. Today, we’re in a new space (thanks to Bill Gallman and his representation of McCall Realty) because of MARTA’s transformation. We’re turning a gravel parking lot into a vibrant tapestry of galvanized steel planters, raised beds and giant clay pots. Our 23 dedicated members cultivate a diverse array of produce - from heirloom tomatoes to South American peppers and aromatic za'atar. With support from AgLanta’s Grows-a-Lot and organizations like Food Well Alliance and ChangeX, we've expanded our reach. Our current garden now boasts a greenhouse, tool storage, compost station - and we’ve created a certified pollinator garden at Underground Atlanta.
